On July 10, 2006, the city of San Antonio, Texas will be naming this
street Emilio Navaira Jr.
It will be named after Yvette, Emilio and Raulito's father who was a
very generous citizen to his community.
The Navaira family would like to thank the city and everyone who
was involved in making this happen.

UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) honors Tejano superstars Emilio Navaira and Shelly Lares as
famous Texans. These performers are not only excellent artist, who transformed a Texas musical tradition
into a household world, but they are exemplary citizens who have supported academic and educational
endeavors close to home. ITC recognizes the contributions of many well-known Texans and is honored to
include Emilio and Shelly in our entry exhibit "Texans: Footprints and Imprints."

guitars. They are very excited and welcome Gibson guitars to their family.
